Family Court Self Help Workshop

When filing without an attorney, this is known as a pro-se litigant. Pro-se is Latin, meaning "without attorney".  The courthouse staff is prohibited from giving legal advice or legal counsel to any litigant. The Family Court Self Help Workshop is NOT going to provide legal advice, legal counsel or assist litigants with filling out their legal forms. In addition, the workshop does NOT address Simplified Dissolution of Marriage.

If you have procedural questions that you would like answered in person, you may attend the Family Court Self Help Workshop.  Workshops are held on the second and fourth Wednesday of each month at 2:00 p.m. in Room 400.  Please call first at 352-374-3694 to ensure the workshop is available as scheduled before you make your trip to the courthouse.

The Family Court Self Help Workshop is not mandatory.  You may contact Family Court staff by phone Monday - Friday from 8:30 am - 5:00 pm at (352) 374-3694 for assistance.
