Length of Service

Most juries are chosen on the first day of jury service, which is usually an all day process. If you are selected as a juror, you will be instructed to return later in the week for that particular trial. Occasionally, a trial may last beyond one week or a grand jury will be empanelled which may require an extended length of service. If you are not selected as a juror, your service is over. Over 85% of the trials last only one day.

Attire

The dress code of the court is general business attire. To show proper respect for the court, please do not wear shorts, tank tops or flip flops.

Jurors summoned to report to either the Criminal Justice Center (220 South Main Street) or the Family and Civil Justice Center (201 East University Avenue) can park in the Southwest Downtown Parking Garage across S.W. 2nd Avenue on the northwest side of the Criminal Justice Center. The Clerk of Court will provide parking validation at the time of service.

All jurors will receive $30 beginning with the 4th day of jury service and each day of service thereafter.
