• 3/14/08: Peggy A. Quince Named Chief Justice-Elect of Florida - Florida Supreme Court Justice Peggy A. Quince was elected to become Florida's 53rd Chief Justice.  The Justices unanimously elected Justice Quince to serve as the first African-American woman to lead the state's third branch of government effective July 1, 2008.
